Seventy years, on a sign along I-70

The Interstate System turned 70 this summer, and FHWA put it on a sign. I passed it a few times on a drive from Maryland to Ohio.

On a recent drive from Maryland to Ohio, most of it on I-70, I passed a sign I hadn’t seen before, two or three times along the way: navy and red, with the 250 mark for the country’s birthday on the left and 70 Years of the Eisenhower Interstate System on the right. Two anniversaries in one year, and the Federal Highway Administration put both on one sign.
